Maria Loos

Maria Loos is a Guest Lecturer at the Mozarteum University Salzburg, teaching 'Advanced Studies in Music and Dance Education – Orff-Schulwerk' within the Department of Elemental Music & Dance Education. She holds a Master's degree and concert exam from the Mozarteum and Leipzig University of Music, specializing in recorder performance. Her artistic career spans prestigious festivals like the Salzburg Festival and Innsbruck Festival of Early Music, alongside collaborations with orchestras including the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig and Ensemble Prisma Wien.

Her research interests center on early and contemporary music interpretation, female baroque composers, and innovative pedagogical methods. She co-authored Blockflöte spielen und lernen (Schott-Verlag) and actively promotes underrepresented composers through her ensemble Spirit of Musicke. Maria’s work bridges historical performance practices with modern compositions, collaborating with composers like Anna Rubin and Drake Mabry.
