Prof. Norbert Riedel is an Honorary Professor of European Law at the University of Würzburg's Faculty of Law, a position he has held since 2005. He holds a law doctorate from Würzburg (1989) and has extensive diplomatic experience with Germany's Federal Foreign Office, including ambassadorial roles in Switzerland, Singapore, and China. His career spans international legal advisory roles, cyber foreign policy representation, and diplomatic postings in Bulgaria, Portugal, and China. Current roles include German Consul General in Shanghai since 2024.
Education: State law exams in Würzburg (1988) and Munich (1991), followed by a doctorate in law.
Research focuses on international law, European integration, diplomatic law, and cyber policy implications. His work integrates legal frameworks with geopolitical challenges in the digital age, emphasizing transnational governance and cyber security norms.
Recent publications emphasize tumor immunology and oncology, particularly CAR T-cell therapies in myeloma, tumor microenvironment dynamics, and immune cell dysfunction mechanisms. These studies explore therapeutic efficacy, biomarkers, and metabolic interactions in cancer progression.
