Robert Klinke

Robert Klinke is a Lecturer at Andrássy University Budapest, where he holds the Chair of Diplomacy II and serves as Head of the Center for Diplomacy since the winter semester of 2024/25. A qualified lawyer and diplomat, he has held prominent roles in German foreign service, including Ambassador to Croatia, Consul General in Afghanistan, and Minister at the German Embassy in Prague. His expertise spans international policy, security, and cultural diplomacy.

• Education: Law and Islamic studies at Saarbrücken, Bonn, Geneva, and Strasbourg; Ph.D. in 1999 from the University of Bonn.

Research Interests: Klinke's work focuses on diplomatic practices, international relations, and historical remembrance, particularly concerning Jewish communities, Sinti and Roma, and Holocaust legacy. He integrates legal frameworks and strategic management into his diplomatic engagements.

Professional Roles: Beyond academia, he has served as Special Representative of Germany's Federal Foreign Office for Jewish organizations, anti-Semitism, and Holocaust remembrance, alongside postings in Brussels, Sudan, Brazil, Norway, and Prague.
