Wolfgang Rudischhauser is a Research Fellow at the Institute for Peace Research and Security Policy (IFSH), serving as a Non-Resident Fellow since July 2025. Previously, he was a Senior Fellow in the Arms Control and Emerging Technologies research area at IFSH (January 2024 - June 2025). His career includes diplomatic roles at the German Federal Foreign Office (since 1988), with postings at the International Atomic Energy Agency (Vienna), Paris, and Shanghai. He held key positions in Brussels (2007-2017) including Director of NATO's Weapons of Mass Destruction Non-proliferation Center and Chair of the EU Nonproliferation Committee, followed by Vice-presidency at the Federal Academy for Security Policy (2017-2019) and Consul General in Chengdu, China.

Research focuses on security policy dynamics, particularly arms control, geopolitical competition in the Indo-Pacific, China's military modernization, and emerging technologies. His work analyzes how these factors impact global stability, drawing from 20+ years of diplomatic and institutional experience.
