Nora McIntyre

Dr. Nora McIntyre is Associate Professor in Educational Innovation at the University of Southampton's Southampton Education School since 2024, with prior roles as Assistant Professor (2021) and Senior Research Associate at the University of Cambridge (2019-2021). She serves as the AI Champion for the Faculty of Social Sciences and leads research on edtech, eye-tracking, and process-oriented analytics to enhance teacher effectiveness globally.

Her recent work explores climate change education through SSIBL (Socio-Scientific Inquiry-Based Learning), using process-tracing analyses and video-elicited reflection to map pathways for systemic change. She has contributed to journals like Learning and Instruction and Educational Technology & Society, emphasizing context-sensitive pedagogy and ethical AI design for low-and-middle-income countries.

As Programme Lead for the Education MSc (Online) and module leader for Investigating Innovations and Research Methods, she supervises PhD candidates in education and trains students in mixed-methods research and data mining. Her external roles include editorial board membership for Learning and Instruction and International Journal of Multiple Research Approaches.
