Noorallah G Juma is a Researcher at the University of Alberta's Department of Renewable Resources within the Faculty of Agriculture, Forestry & Home Economics. He holds a PhD, MSc, and BSc. His research focuses on soil microbiology, biochemistry, and ecology, particularly carbon and nitrogen cycling, and their roles in soil structure and environmental sustainability. He is a renowned educator, recognized for integrating technology into teaching, such as developing the Soils 210 courseware and launching the textbook series 'The Pedosphere and Its Dynamics'.
As Curator of the Soil Science Collections from 1999 to 2008, he digitized over 100 soil monoliths, enhanced accessibility for global researchers, and preserved soil science heritage. His awards include the 2014 University of Alberta Museums Hall of Fame and multiple teaching accolades for innovative pedagogy.
