Nola Ahola is an artist and art educator affiliated with the University of Washington through its Continuing Education Program. She holds an MFA and has taught figure drawing, painting, and feminist art workshops since the 1970s. Her career includes a 14-month Artist in Residency at Stevens Elementary School in Seattle, where she mentored students and teachers. She is known for her large-scale brush drawings of dancers and watercolor figure studies.
Education: Began art studies at Willamette University under Carl Hall, continued at University of Washington (1950s), and earned her MFA there.
Exhibitions: First solo exhibition at Otto Seligman Gallery (1967), followed by shows at Francine Seders Gallery, University Unitarian Gallery, Linda Farris Gallery (1980s–2000s), and recent exhibits at Johnston Architects (2014) and Ida Culver House (2015). Also exhibited through Nordstrom Inc.'s showcase of her dancer series.
Recognition: Featured in a notable art collection and sustained professional engagement in art education. Maintained active exhibition practice into her late 70s.
