Professor Noel O'Sullivan is a Professor of Accounting at Loughborough Business School, Loughborough University. Previously, he held the position of Professor of Corporate Governance and Head of Accounting and Financial Management at the University of Sheffield. His expertise spans corporate governance, auditing, takeovers, private equity, and board dynamics. He holds a BA from Limerick and a PhD from Nottingham.
His research focuses on governance characteristics in audit pricing, audit committee effectiveness, private equity impacts on employment, and the role of sovereign wealth funds in economic stability. Noel actively supervises PhD candidates exploring topics such as audit quality, board gender diversity, and AIM market governance.
His publications analyze audit fee determinants, non-executive director career paths, and post-crisis economic interventions. He has contributed to understanding how regulatory frameworks like Sarbanes-Oxley affect audit practices and how sovereign investments influence UK employment and productivity.
