Jian Zhou is a Professor of Accounting at the Shidler College of Business, University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa. Holding a PhD from Syracuse University and a Master’s/Bachelor’s from Peking University, he teaches courses in financial accounting, auditing, and advanced international accounting.

His 20+ years of scholarly work focus on audit quality, regulatory impacts (Sarbanes-Oxley Act), political risk analysis, and linguistic relativity in accounting. Recent publications examine credit rating affirmations, CEO risk hobbies, and COSO framework compliance.
