Parveen P. Gupta is the William L. Clayton Distinguished Professor of Accounting at Lehigh University's College of Business. He joined the university in 1987 and served as Department Chair of Accounting from 2007 to 2016. His expertise spans corporate governance, financial reporting, internal controls, and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. Dr. Gupta has been recognized with numerous teaching awards, including the 2021 College of Business Teaching Excellence Award, national recognition by Poets & Quants, and the SEC’s Law and Policy Award (2007) for his work on Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
- Served as academic fellow at the SEC’s Division of Corporation Finance, contributing to guidance on internal control reporting.
- Authored 29 research articles in journals such as Accounting, Organizations and Society and Journal of Accounting, Auditing and Finance, with over 1,768 citations.
