Noam Elyashiv

Noam Elyashiv is a Senior Lecturer in Jewelry & Metalsmithing at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), where he has taught since 1994. He holds a BFA from Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem and an MFA from RISD.

Elyashiv’s artistic practice bridges drawing and object-making, focusing on the interplay between transitional forms, gravity, and the body. His work explores ephemerality, fragility, and strength through metamorphosed objects, as seen in his solo exhibition Time Lines (2019) and Conversation (2017–2018). His pieces have been featured in publications like Lost In Jewellery Magazine and collected by institutions such as the MFA Boston and the Schmuckmuseum in Pforzheim, Germany.

Scientific Awards:

• Rhode Island State Council on the Arts (RISCA) Fellowship in Crafts (two-time recipient)
• America Israel Cultural Foundation Award

Elyashiv has served on RISCA jury committees, been a guest speaker for Art Jewelry Forum, and participated in residencies at MASS MoCA. He will be on sabbatical during the 2025–26 academic year.
