Dr. Nitin Sinha is a Senior Research Fellow at the Leibniz Centre for Modern Oriental Studies (ZMO) and Principal Investigator for the European Research Council (ERC) funded project ‘Domestic Servants in Colonial South Asia’. His research bridges Social History, Colonial Studies, and Temporal Analysis, focusing on themes such as nocturnal societies, labor dynamics, and infrastructural governance.
- Education: Ph.D. in South Asian History (SOAS, 2007), M.Phil and M.A. in Modern Indian History (JNU), B.A. in History (Patna University).
His scholarly work interrogates the social implications of time, particularly the role of the night in colonial power structures and legal frameworks. Recent publications examine domestic servants' histories, colonial labor regulations, and infrastructural development in India.
