Niroj Aryal serves as Interim Associate Dean for Research and Professor/Chair in the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Design at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. His academic leadership spans research administration and educational innovation within environmental engineering disciplines.
Dr. Aryal holds a Ph.D. in Biosystems and Environmental Engineering from Michigan State University (2015), an M.S. in Biosystems Engineering from Michigan State University (2010), a Postgraduate Diploma in Environmental Education from Kathmandu University, and a B.S. in Agricultural Engineering from Tribhuvan University. His educational background bridges agricultural systems with advanced environmental engineering principles.
His research integrates biosystems engineering with data science applications, focusing on sustainable water management, phytoremediation techniques, and STEM education frameworks. Key interests include constructed wetlands for agricultural runoff treatment, wastewater processing using plant-based systems, and modular data science curriculum development for undergraduate engineering programs.
