Nils aus dem Moore

Dr. Nils aus dem Moore is an Adjunct Professor at the Hertie School, affiliated with its Centre for Sustainability, where he has been teaching since 2020. He currently serves as Director at Christ & Company, a Berlin-based consulting firm focused on decarbonization and systemic transformation. Previously, he spent 16 years at RWI – Leibniz Institute for Economic Research, holding roles such as Head of the 'Sustainability and Governance' research group (2014–2023), Berlin office Head (2019–2022), and Head of Communication (2013–2018). His research emphasizes sustainability policy design and sustainable welfare measurement.

Education includes diploma degrees in Journalism from TU Dortmund (with international credits from IHECS, Brussels) and Economics from Freie Universität Berlin, a PhD in Empirical Public Economics from Ruhr-Universität Bochum, and a certificate in 'Leading Sustainable Corporations' from Oxford University’s Saïd Business School. He contributed to the German Bundestag’s Enquete Commission on 'Growth, Wellbeing and Quality of Life' (2011–2013) and previously worked as Executive Editor for Business and Economics at Cicero magazine.

His professional year spans academia, policy research, and media, with a focus on translating sustainability concepts into actionable frameworks. At RWI, he advanced interdisciplinary sustainability research while balancing administrative leadership roles.
