Mark A. Andor

Mark A. Andor is Professor of Behavioral and Environmental Economics at Ruhr University Bochum since 2024, concurrently serving as co-head of the research area 'Environment and Resources' and head of the 'Prosocial Behaviour' research group at RWI-Leibniz Institute for Economic Research. Previously, he held guest lecturer positions at Ruhr-Universität Bochum (2023), Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf (2020-2022), and Universität Duisburg-Essen (2013-2022).

His educational background includes a Dr.rer.pol. from Universität Münster (2012) and Dipl.-Volkswirt in Economics from the same institution (2003-2008), with supplementary studies at Universidad de Vigo, Spain (2007-2008).

Professor Andor's research integrates experimental methods with policy analysis across behavioral and environmental economics. He investigates prosocial behavior mechanisms, energy conservation interventions through information campaigns and defaults, and the interplay between fairness perceptions and environmental policy acceptance. His work employs applied econometrics to evaluate residential energy efficiency, meat consumption patterns, and pandemic response behaviors.

Recent publications demonstrate interdisciplinary convergence between behavioral science and sustainability policy, particularly examining cognitive/non-cognitive drivers of individual actions in energy, food, and health contexts.
