Prof. Dr. Michael Kvasnicka is a Full Professor of Economics (W3) at the Chair of Applied Economics within the Faculty of Economics and Management at Otto-von-Guericke-Universität Magdeburg since 2013. He previously held roles at the RWI-Leibniz Institute for Economic Research and Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, including leadership as Head of the Migration Research Group (2012–2013) and Visiting Professor (2011–2012).

Current affiliations include membership in the Standing Field Committee for Population Economics of the Verein für Socialpolitik (VfS) and ongoing research fellowships at RWI-Leibniz Institute and IZA. His career spans roles as a post-doctoral researcher and research assistant at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.
