Felix Garten is a PhD candidate at the Berlin Graduate School for Global and Transregional Studies and a Research Associate at the Hertie School's Center of Digital Governance. His research focuses on the economic implications of financial technology platforms in Europe and Asia. He collaborates with Prof. Daniela Stockmann and Prof. Mark Hallerberg. Previously, he worked at the German Council on Foreign Relations, the German Bundestag’s Committee on Foreign Affairs, and the German Federal Foreign Office’s Policy Planning Staff. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Chinese Studies from Freie Universität Berlin and a Master of International Affairs from the Hertie School.
Research Interests: Felix’s work bridges financial innovation, digital governance, and international economic policy. He examines how fintech platforms reshape regulatory frameworks and economic dynamics across regions. His analysis often integrates comparative perspectives between Europe and Asia, emphasizing policy responses to technological disruption.
Labs/Teams: Affiliated with the Center for Digital Governance, he contributes to interdisciplinary research on digital transformation and public policy.
