Nilofer Naqvi

Nilofer Naqvi, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor of Psychology at Iona College, College of Arts and Sciences. She teaches courses in dynamics of group process, behavioral assessment and intervention, intellectual assessment, personality assessment, and advanced lifespan development.

Her research focuses on autism spectrum disorder (ASD) assessment and teacher training in low/middle-income countries, particularly Tanzania and Cambodia. Key themes include cross-cultural special education, international research collaborations, and disability self-efficacy. She has developed psychometric tools like the Autism Stigma and Knowledge Questionnaire (ASK-Q) and pioneered mobile technology-based teacher training programs.

Selected presentations include work on cross-battery assessment, trauma-exposed children, and community resilience at conferences like the International Meeting for Autism Research and Society for Research in Child Development.
