Niklas Selberg is an Associate Professor and Senior Lecturer at the Department of Law, Lund University. He holds concurrent roles as a Researcher in Health Law, Human Rights Law, Integration and Law, and the Lund University Centre for Business Law (ACLU). He is also a member of the LU Profile Area: Human Rights and serves as Nordic Editor-in-Chief of Retfærd – Nordic Journal of Law and Justice.
His research focuses on labor market legal frameworks, employer-employee dynamics, anti-discrimination law, migration law, and human rights. He explores power relations through global and local legal regulations, with a particular emphasis on EU law and industrial relations theories.
Teaching: Course director for European Labour Law and the Internal Market. Teaches corporate law, labor law, anti-discrimination law, and gender and law across LL.M. programs. Specializes in legal education for non-lawyers, contributing to courses at the Faculty of Social Sciences.
Outreach: Engages in public debates on labor law, migration, and EU law. Regularly provides expert analysis to practitioners on labor law developments.
Research Activities: Supervises doctoral candidates (e.g., Camilla Ferngren, Åsa Sonnsjö Andersson). Active in projects like the Lund Human Rights Research Hub and the Gigification of Work theme at Pufendorf IAS. Organizes workshops on topics like decolonizing law and 21st-century labor challenges.
