Dr. Nikhilkumar Shah is a Lecturer in Energy & Building Services at Ulster University's Belfast School of Architecture and the Built Environment. With over 10 years of experience, he holds a BEng in Mechanical Engineering (Gujarat University), MSc in Energy Systems (FH-Aachen), and PhD in Diesel Engine-Driven Heat Pumps (Ulster University). Certified as an Energy Auditor (AEE), PRINCE2 practitioner, and F-Gas CAT1 specialist.
His research focuses on:
- Heat pump technologies (industrial/domestic)
- Nanofluid applications in renewable systems
- Energy storage and system integration
- Waste-to-energy conversion and circular economy
- Smart cities and sustainable communities
Recent publications demonstrate strong emphasis on MXene/Carbon-dot nanofluids for solar applications, with experimental studies on photovoltaic/thermal systems and direct absorption solar collectors. Research employs energy/exergy analysis, optimization techniques, and environmental-economic evaluations.
