Dr Nik Hodges is a Reader in Toxicology at the School of Biosciences, University of Birmingham. His research focuses on genetic toxicology, cellular oxidative stress, and DNA repair mechanisms. He is a lecturer on undergraduate and postgraduate toxicology modules, including the MSc/MRes programs, and serves as course director for the MRes Molecular Mechanistic Toxicology. His lab pioneered studies on the OGG1 protein's repair deficiency under oxidative stress, with implications for cancer susceptibility.
