معرفی
Dr. Samuel Johnson is an Associate Professor in Applied Mathematics at the University of Birmingham's School of Mathematics. His academic journey includes a BSc and MSc in Physics and Mathematics from the University of Granada, Spain (2006-2008), followed by a PhD on 'Interplay between Network Topology and Dynamics in Neural Systems' (2011). He held postdoctoral positions at the University of Oxford and Imperial College London before joining the University of Birmingham in 2017.
His research focuses on complex systems with applications in ecology, neuroscience, and societal dynamics. Key areas include trophic coherence in networks, human ecology patterns, and brain development modeling. Recent work explores the relationship between network structure and dynamics, such as epidemic spread, neuronal activity, and ecological stability.
- Education: BSc (2006), MSc (2008), PhD (2011) in Physics/Mathematics from University of Granada.
- Advisory Role: Adviser to Polymaths R&D Ltd.
- Affiliations: Member of the Conflict Research Society.
Publications span interdisciplinary journals like Nature Mental Health, PNAS, and Physical Review E, addressing topics from neural networks to urban violence patterns. His work bridges mathematical theory with real-world applications in health, ecology, and social systems.
