Professor Nigel Stocks is Head of the Discipline of General Practice at the University of Adelaide and former Deputy Head of the School of Population Health. He holds a Senior Principal Research PHCRED Fellowship (2007-2010). His research focuses on cardiovascular, respiratory, and mental health with emphasis on clinical services, patient health literacy, and cardiovascular disease prevention.
Educational achievements include curriculum development for medical students and supervision of 16 PhD/Masters students. Research grants exceed $10.6 million from NHMRC with projects including influenza surveillance and chronic disease management.
Awards include the PHCRED Fellowship. Supervision includes doctoral candidates examining clinical interventions and epidemiological patterns.
