Professor Nigel Culkin is a Senior Academic Manager at the University of Hertfordshire, recognized as an expert in Innovation & Entrepreneurial Learning. He has published extensively on small business leadership, entrepreneurial universities, graduate enterprise, and digitalization, and has led projects for UK/overseas governments, multinationals, and Research Councils.
He serves as Past-President of the Institute of Small Business & Entrepreneurship (ISBE) and contributes to the UNCTAD Expert Meeting in Geneva. His 2018 book, Tales of Brexits Past and Present, garnered media attention including Sky News and BBC World Service.

Culkin secured €24M investment to sustain over 75 enterprise-focused roles at UH. He advised the UK's All-Party Parliamentary Group on Micro Business and Lord Young's Working Group, contributing to the Enterprise for All report accepted by Cabinet in 2014. His recent work includes Knowledge Exchange projects in Vietnam and the Western Balkans.
