Nicole Robertson is an Associate Professor in Modern British History at Sheffield Hallam University, specializing in 19th-20th century labour, gender, and social history. Her research examines white-collar work identities, labour movements, and consumer activism.
She co-edited '20th Century Britain: Economic, Cultural and Social Change' (Routledge, 2022) and led AHRC-funded projects including 'The Clerical Profession and the Administrative Revolution', resulting in an online exhibition on office life. She co-directed the 'Tailored Trades' research network with Bishopsgate Institute and People's History Museum.
Current research explores white-collar unions and redundancy responses in the service sector. She teaches 'Britain between the Wars' and 'Making History'.
