Nicolas Duriau is a PartTime Lecturer at Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB), where he is also a research fellow funded by the F.R.S.-FNRS. His academic work centers on literary history and gendered representations in French novels from the 18th to early 20th century.
Research Focus
His doctoral thesis (supervised by Professor Valérie André) explored male prostitution in French literature between 1783 and 1922. Broader interests include Queer Studies, gender stereotypes, and historical contexts in Enlightenment and fin-de-siècle literature, with a focus on identity politics and literary criticism.

Recent articles analyze gender and sexuality in French novels: 'L'Année galante' (2021) examines cross-dressing and exploitation, while 'D'une homosexualité fin-de-siècle' (2019) critiques Italian stereotypes in Proustian contexts.
