Juliette Masquelier

Juliette Masquelier is a Researcher affiliated with the Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB) and the Striges research center, specializing in contemporary Catholic history through gender studies. She earned her PhD from ULB in 2019, with her thesis published as Femmes catholiques en mouvements. Action catholique et émancipation féminine en Belgique francophone (1955-1990) in 2021.

Her research examines women's/feminist movements, Catholic secularization, sexuality, reproduction, and political activism. Currently, she leads the BRAIN WomenExile project (BELSPO), analyzing exiled women's political roles in Belgium (1918-1958) using Aliens Police archives. Earlier FNRS-funded work explored maternity norms in Catholic medical clinics post-WWII.
