Nicola Looker is a Lecturer in Secondary Education (Computing) at Edge Hill University and a part-time PhD candidate at the University of Glasgow's School of Computing Science. Her research focuses on computing education, epistemology, and teacher education. She teaches on courses including the PGCE Secondary Computer Science and the MA Education module PRL4049. Looker holds a BSc in Computing from The Open University and advanced qualifications in education from Edge Hill University.

Her research explores the intersection of disciplinary knowledge and educational practice, with a focus on epistemic practices in computing. She actively participates in professional networks like the Pedagogy and Curriculum Research Network and leads external initiatives such as the Reading the ITE Evidence Base reading group. She co-leads the TICE 2024: Teacher Inquiry in Computing Education project, addressing computing education research and practice.
