Dr. Nicola Curry is an Associate Professor of Haematology and MRC Clinical Academic Research Partnership Fellow at the University of Oxford. She is also a Consultant Haematologist specializing in bleeding and clotting disorders, with a focus on inherited fibrinogen disorders and care for women with bleeding conditions. Her research explores endothelial regulation in trauma coagulopathy, aiming to improve treatments for major hemorrhage. She holds leadership roles in the UKHCDO Girls and Women with Bleeding Disorders Working Party, the ISTH SSC Fibrinogen and FXIII group, and the British Society for Haemostasis and Thrombosis.
She trained in medicine at the University of Cambridge, completed clinical and haematology training in London and Oxford, and earned her MD under Prof. Simon Stanworth at NHS Blood & Transplant, Oxford.
Her research interests include trauma coagulopathy pathophysiology, endothelial dysfunction, and thrombosis. Recent work focuses on machine learning in diagnostic imaging and clinical trials like the CRYOSTAT-2 study on cryoprecipitate use in trauma hemorrhage.
Key publications address trauma management guidelines, thrombosis diagnostics, and transfusion strategies. She actively contributes to national and international committees shaping clinical practice and research.
Her clinical practice integrates advanced haemostasis management with a focus on personalized care for complex bleeding disorders.
