Nicola Coplin is a Lecturer at Falmouth University since 2013, specializing in creative writing and theatre practice. She holds an MA in Creative Writing from the University of Exeter and a PGCHE from Falmouth University, alongside an Environmental Science degree. Her research focuses on non-linear narratives, particularly using scriptwriting to reframing experiences of domestic abuse and climate change storytelling. She is currently pursuing a practice-based PhD exploring writing as a therapeutic medium.
Research Interests: Non-linear narrative structures, feminist storytelling, domestic abuse representation, Anthropocene narratives, and environmental policy engagement in Cornwall. Professional memberships include the British Film Institute and National Association of Writers in Education.
Teaching Involvement: Contributes to Creative Writing BA(Hons), Professional Writing MA, and Journalism & Creative Writing programs at Falmouth University. Engages in policy work through roles like Reader for The Nick Darke Award and environmental advocacy bridging art-science disciplines.
