Nicolò Zarotti is a Lecturer in Clinical Psychology at the University of Leeds, within the Division of Psychological and Social Medicine, part of the Leeds Institute of Health Sciences (LIHS). He is also an Honorary Clinical Lecturer at Lancaster University and a practicing Clinical Psychologist in Neuropsychology at the Manchester Centre for Clinical Neurosciences (MCCN).

Zarotti's research focuses on psychological and neuropsychological approaches to mental health and cognitive difficulties in neurodegenerative conditions, particularly Huntington’s disease, Parkinson’s, motor neurone disease, and multiple sclerosis. He also explores psychological adjustment to chronic illness, social cognition, emotion regulation, perceived control, and trauma. His work increasingly addresses mental health in higher education and caregiver wellbeing.
The most recent articles highlight a strong trend toward qualitative and scoping research on psychological interventions, particularly acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), caregiver support, and patient experiences across neurological conditions. His research often involves collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and national organizations.
