Nicki Flinn-Culver is an Associate Professor of Dance at Hope College, where she has served since 2009. She specializes in K–12 dance education and pedagogy, focusing on brain-based kinesthetic learning in academic environments. As director of Hope’s Strike Time Dance Company, she leads educational outreach initiatives delivering ~40 annual performances for children.
- Education: M.A. in the Art of Teaching (Mary Grove College, 2002), B.A. in Dance Education, Language Arts and Kinesiology (Hope College, 1997)
Her recent work involves developing K–12 arts assessments for the State of Michigan. Publications include contributions to the MAEIA (Michigan Arts Education Instruction and Assessment) project, emphasizing dance curriculum standards.
