Lindsey Hanson is an Assistant Professor of Dance at Hope College, joining the department in 2020. She teaches Jazz II and III, Repertory, Ballet I, and Survey of Somatic Methods, emphasizing versatility in the dance industry. Her expertise includes commercial and theatre jazz, somatic methods (Bartenieff Fundamentals, Laban Movement Analysis, Alexander Technique), and site-specific dance.

Hanson has received multiple grants and awards, including the Jacob E. Nyenhuis Faculty Development Grant (2024) and the Teacher-Scholar Vital Worship Grant (2021). Her choreographic works, such as Sanctuary (2021) and Selah (2024), have been showcased internationally and awarded at festivals like the Hong Kong Indie Film Festival and Religion Faith International Film Festival. Future performances of Sanctuary are scheduled for 2026 at Pillar Church and Westminster Presbyterian.

As a mentor, she guides student choreographers in Hope’s dance showcases and collaborates with the Lindsey Hanson Collective to create innovative works that merge historic architecture with contemporary dance.
