Dr. Kristin VanEyk is an Assistant Professor of English at Hope College, joining the faculty in 2021. She specializes in writing instruction, English education, and interdisciplinary studies bridging faith, leadership development, and rhetoric.

Her research focuses on critical language awareness in secondary English classrooms, examining how educational environments shape perceptions of linguistic politics and advocating for inclusive pedagogies that foster curiosity about language diversity. Additional work explores intersections between Christian faith and English teaching practices.
Recent publications examine prescriptivism in language manuals, standardization processes, and multilingual student discourse. Her scholarship engages sociolinguistic frameworks and decolonial approaches to language education.
