Nelson Elías Rivas Chacón

Nelson Elías Rivas Chacón is a PhD researcher joining the Materials Science Institute of Madrid (ICMM-CSIC) under the supervision of Dr. Guilherme Vilhena. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Physics from Universidad de La Laguna and is currently completing a master’s degree in Nanophysics and Advanced Materials at Universidad Complutense de Madrid.

Rivas specializes in theoretical condensed matter physics, with a focus on developing analytical models for semiconductor spin qubits and studying phonon-based heat transport at the nanoscale. His work combines Kohn-Luttinger Hamiltonians, perturbation theory, and collaborations with experimental groups to validate theoretical predictions.

His research aims to uncover the wave-like behavior of phonons in ballistic and diffusive transport regimes, contributing to advancements in nanoscale thermal management. Rivas brings a strong academic foundation from Venezuela and Spain, having previously studied in Tenerife during high school.
