معرفی
Juan Camacho Castro is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Physics, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). His work focuses on thermal transport phenomena in nanoscale materials, extended irreversible thermodynamics, and phonon hydrodynamics. He has led and contributed to multiple research projects funded by institutions like the European Regional Development Fund and the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness. His research spans topics such as magnetic nanoparticle separation, heat vorticity in ballistic phonon transport, and thermal management in semiconductors.
Education includes a Ph.D. in Physics (1992) and an earlier degree in Physics (1988), both from UAB. He held an Assistant Professor position (1993–1995) and a research fellowship (1989–1992). His projects address cutting-edge issues like phonon hydrodynamics in nanodevices and thermal transport in van der Waals heterostructures.
Key contributions include datasets analyzing food web structures and collaborative work on thermal transport in silicon and dielectric crystals. His lab, Grup de Propietats Tèrmiques de Materials en la Nanoescala (GTNaM), explores nanoscale thermal properties with applications in energy and technology.
