Nelsensius Fauk is a researcher at the Centre for Public Health, Equity and Human Flourishing (PHEHF) at Torrens University Australia. He holds a PhD in Public Health from Flinders University, with extensive educational background in health-related fields from multiple international institutions.

Dr. Fauk has been involved in 20 research projects as principal investigator for 13 of them, working with marginalized groups including people living with HIV, transgender women, men who have sex with men, and families of children with disabilities. His research spans multiple countries including Indonesia, the Netherlands, Tanzania, and the UK through the Global Burden of Disease Network.
Dr. Fauk's research portfolio demonstrates significant impact with publications attracting tens of thousands of views, particularly on HIV stigma and discrimination. His recent work shows increasing productivity with 21 research outputs in 2024 and 13 in 2025 across high-impact journals including JAMA Neurology, Nature Medicine, and Nature Communications. His work contributes to multiple UN Sustainable Development Goals related to health and wellbeing.
Dr. Fauk has established research collaborations across Australia and internationally, with particular focus on Indonesia where he leads projects investigating the impacts of parental migration on left-behind children. His fingerprint analysis reveals strong connections to Indonesia (100%), AIDS/HIV (61%), People Living with HIV (49%), and the Global Burden of Disease Study (44%).
As an academic supervisor, Dr. Fauk is accepting PhD students and maintains active research teams focused on public health equity. His research has received funding from sources including Wellbeing SA for projects on Indigenous children's wellbeing in CANZUS nations.
