Neil Smith is a Senior Lecturer in Paramedic Science at the University of Wolverhampton, affiliated with the Faculty of Education Health & Wellbeing and the School of Allied Health and Midwifery. With over a decade of experience in UK ambulance services, he teaches across all modules of the BSc Paramedic Science program while maintaining clinical practice with the South Central Ambulance Service. His expertise includes resuscitation, trauma care, and biomedical foundations of paramedicine.

His research focuses on CPR biomechanics and trauma care, including studies on chest compression techniques and pelvic binder application. His work on lateral versus over-the-head chest compressions showed no significant quality differences, while his research on pelvic binders revealed gaps between theoretical knowledge and practical application among students.
Selected publications span cardiac arrest prediction models (2024), CPR innovation (2010), and trauma device application (2019). His 2019 poster on pelvic binders earned recognition at the College of Paramedics Student Paramedic Conference.
