Neil Rowland is a Senior Research Fellow at Queen's Business School (QBS) within Queen's University Belfast. He holds the role of UKRI Regional Clean Air Champion for Northern Ireland and is affiliated with the Health and Human Development Initiative. His research focuses on air pollution health impacts, labor economics, and educational outcomes using linked administrative data through the Administrative Data Research Centre Northern Ireland (ADRC-NI).
Education:
- Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Economics, supervised by Professors Shuttleworth and McVicar, awarded December 2019.
Research Interests: Neil’s work addresses air pollution’s health effects, unemployment inequality in Northern Ireland, and the socioeconomic impacts of exclusions. His research contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to health, inequality, and sustainable cities.
