Duncan McVicar is a Professor of Economics at Queen's Business School, Queen's University Belfast, with prior affiliations at the University of Melbourne and the Northern Ireland Economic Research Centre. His research spans labour economics, social policy, health economics, and education economics, focusing on program evaluation, disability and unemployment, zero hours contracts, school exclusion, air pollution effects, and sequence analysis of labour market data.
- Research Interests: Labour market dynamics, welfare reform, disability policy, precarious employment, educational achievement, substance use, environmental health, and quantitative methods.
