Professor Neil Fox is a leading academic and practitioner in film practice and pedagogy at Falmouth University, where he holds roles including Research and Strategy Lead for the Sound/Image Cinema Lab and Director of the Centre for Pedagogy Futures. His work bridges academic research, industry collaboration, and innovative teaching methods, emphasizing creative pedagogy and film production ecosystems. He has supervised PhD students and contributed to award-winning initiatives such as the Sound/Image Cinema Lab, recognized with a bronze GS Reimagine Education Award in 2022.
Qualifications include a Professional Doctorate (2014), Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education (2015), and Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (2016). His research spans film education, screenwriting, podcasting, and music documentaries, with notable contributions to publications like Media Practice & Education and MAI: Feminism and Visual Culture. He co-founded the acclaimed Cinematologists podcast and authored the upcoming monograph Music Films: Documentaries, Concert Films and Other Cinematic Representations of Popular Music (2024).
