Nayoung Rim

Nayoung Rim serves as an Associate Professor of Economics at the United States Naval Academy, where her research centers on applied labor economics with a focus on systemic discrimination and inequality. She investigates how institutional structures and policy interventions can mitigate disparities across educational and professional settings.

Research Focus: Dr. Rim's work critically examines gender disparities through Title IX compliance in graduate education, analyzes how "up-or-out" promotion systems differently impact fertility decisions for men versus women, explores racial advocacy gaps in career progression, and investigates ethnic disparities in medical diagnostic testing. Her interdisciplinary approach bridges labor economics with social justice frameworks.

Research Support: Funded by major institutions including the Russell Sage Foundation, Laura and John Arnold Foundation, and AccessLex Institute/AIR.
