Natalie Fisher is a Research Fellow at the School of Medicine, Dentistry and Biomedical Sciences, Queen's University Belfast, affiliated with the Patrick G Johnston Centre for Cancer Research. Her work focuses on molecular characterization of colorectal cancer using transcriptomics and digital pathology approaches.
- Colorectal Cancer subtyping
- Tumor microenvironment analysis
- Transcriptomics data interpretation
- Digital pathology applications
Recent research outputs include developing the dualGSEA bioinformatics tool (2024) and defining pathway-level phenotypes linked to clinical outcomes in colorectal cancer. Collaborations span multiple international institutions including University of Oxford and University of Turin.
- 1st place research poster - Irish Society of Surgical Pathology Annual Meeting (2021)
- 1st place Digital Pathology/AI poster - Royal Society of Medicine (2022)
As a PhD graduate (2023), she continues to advance computational oncology through publications in Nature Genetics, Science Reports, and Nature Communications, working with leading researchers like Professors Dunne, Longley, and Lawler.
