Raheleh Amirkhah is a Research Fellow at Queen's University Belfast, affiliated with the School of Medicine, Dentistry and Biomedical Sciences and the Patrick G Johnston Centre for Cancer Research. Her research focuses on understanding colorectal cancer biology, microRNA roles in cancer progression, vascular dysfunction in diabetes, and developing bioinformatics tools for transcriptomic analysis.
Her work integrates organoid models, transcriptomic profiling, and computational biology to uncover molecular mechanisms driving tumor heterogeneity, clinical outcomes, and therapeutic vulnerabilities. Key contributions include pathway-level subtyping of colorectal cancers, impaired vascular function in diabetic patients, and tools like dualGSEA for robust biological discovery.
She has been recognized with the Dr J.D. Williamson Prize (2023) for her impactful research. Collaborations span international teams in oncology, immunology, and stem cell biology, addressing translational challenges in cancer and diabetes research.
