Varun Pathak

Varun Pathak is a Research Fellow at Queen's University Belfast within the School of Medicine, Dentistry and Biomedical Sciences, affiliated with the Wellcome Wolfson Institute for Experimental Medicine. His research focuses on vascular biology, diabetes-related pathophysiology, and cellular mechanisms of aging. Key areas include endothelial cell function, metabolic signaling, and therapeutic interventions for retinal diseases.

He holds a PhD and contributes to the UN Sustainable Development Goals related to good health and well-being. His work integrates molecular biology, pharmacology, and translational research to address vascular dysfunction in diabetes, aging, and cancer. Pathak has authored over 28 peer-reviewed publications, with recent emphasis on PTX3 modulation in retinopathy, endothelial senescence mechanisms, and radiosensitization strategies.
