Natalie Armstrong

Natalie Armstrong is Professor of Healthcare Improvement Research at the University of Leicester's Department of Population Health Sciences. She previously served as Head of Department (2018-2021) and now holds the position of Deputy Head of College for Life Sciences.

Her research applies sociological perspectives to healthcare challenges, focusing on implementation science, patient safety, and quality improvement in clinical settings. She leads implementation research for NIHR Applied Research Collaboration East Midlands and contributes to patient safety initiatives with NIHR Greater Manchester.

Professional roles include leadership in the Social Science, Applied Healthcare and Improvement Research (SAPPHIRE) Group and co-directorship of the Wellcome Trust PhD Programme in Genomic Epidemiology and Public Health Genomics.
