Natalia Nowack is a Lecturer at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, affiliated with the Faculty of Philosophy II and the Department of Musicology. Since 1995, she has engaged in teaching activities at various music schools and holds a doctorate from Martin Luther University (2006). Her academic journey includes studies in guitar at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Weimar, supplementary training in cultural management, and a Master's degree in Musicology, Economics, and Art History.

Her research focuses on the history of musicology, music sociology (particularly in the former GDR and late 19th-century Russia/Soviet Union), musical aesthetics of the 18th and 19th centuries, and popular music. From 2013 to 2016, she led the DFG-funded research project Beginnings of Music Sociology, and since 2016, she has continued with teaching assignments. Her scholarly activities also include participation in research colloquia at Humboldt University Berlin (2006–2007) and a habilitation process.
Natalia Nowack has performed extensively in chamber music ensembles, including the formation Das Potsdam Duo, and contributes to music competitions as a voluntary jury member. Her work bridges instrumental practice, cultural management, and systematic musicology, with a strong emphasis on interdisciplinary methodologies.
