Nasrollah Hamidi

Dr. Nasrollah Hamidi is a full-time Professor of Chemistry at South Carolina State University (SCSU), affiliated with the College of Biological & Physical Sciences. His research focuses on polymer synthesis, waste plastic recycling, and environmental remediation. He holds a Ph.D. from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and has authored over 100 peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations.

Recent efforts include developing methods to recover polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) from waste materials.

Grants and Collaboration:
He has served as Principal Investigator (PI) on multiple Evans-Allen projects and participated in HBCU-UP/NSF initiatives. His collaboration with industry partners focuses on carbon composite materials for high-temperature applications.

His research lab specializes in polymer characterization using advanced techniques like size-exclusion chromatography (SEC), light-scattering, and viscometry. He also leads efforts in atmospheric water generator development using hygroscopic materials.
