Jae-Dong Hong

Jae-Dong Hong is a Professor and Academic Program Coordinator for the Industrial Engineering Program at South Carolina State University, where he has taught since 1988. He holds a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from Pennsylvania State University.

• Education: Ph.D., M.S., and B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Pennsylvania State University and Korea University, respectively.

His research focuses on modeling logistics network systems and designing efficient supply chain systems, intersecting with fields like operations research and quality improvement methodologies. He has attracted over $3 million in research funding and published more than 100 papers.

Scientific awards include the Governor's Distinguished Professor Award, multiple Provost’s and Dean’s Awards for Excellence, and repeated recognitions at national conferences like NEDSI and DSI. He has also been listed in multiple Who’s Who directories for over a decade.

As Academic Program Coordinator, he plays a pivotal role in curriculum development and student mentorship. His teaching spans courses such as Industrial Operations Research-1 and Transportation Logistics.
