Nasir Aminu serves as a Senior Lecturer in Economics and Finance at Cardiff School of Management, Cardiff Metropolitan University. He holds the position of Research Ethics Coordinator for the School and has previously served as Programme Director of all Economic programmes for four years and as collaborative provision Field Group Chair of Economics for three years.
Dr. Aminu completed his PhD in 2015, receiving his award in 2016 from Cardiff University. His academic expertise spans macroeconomics with specific interests in public policy, macrofinance, and energy economics. His research demonstrates a strong focus on the intersection of economic policy, environmental sustainability, and financial markets.
His recent publications reveal a clear pattern of interdisciplinary research bridging finance, environmental economics, and policy analysis. A significant portion of his work examines the relationship between economic development, energy consumption, and environmental sustainability, particularly in African economies. He has also made notable contributions to behavioral finance research, especially regarding investment biases and 'sin stocks' in European markets. His methodological approach combines econometric analysis with policy evaluation frameworks.
